war sucks

I've heard that they wanted to re-name the french fries in a county of Florida... to call them liberty fries or american fries instead
And some others (or maybe their brothers) are boycotting some french companies in the usa... well, i don't specially care about french companies, to be honest i really don't care... But i am just wondering: is it really healthy to be mad at french because they are against dropping bombs on Irak? against killing innocents victims and being in war again??
Why the usa don't use other way to overthrow Sadam Hussein? why they wouldn't do as they did with all the governments which have embarrassed them before?
i really don't understand people who are encouraging one more war... we all know the results of wars and the consequences it has on humanity and on environment... i don't understand why there are still some guys to believe in wars! We have seen in the past how much war sucks!!

It's "funny"... Last time i went i India, it was a week after the 11st september, in 2001.. and the usa were about to be in against ben laden and the talibans... Now, i am leaving the day after tomorrow and the usa are again about to be in war, but with someone else!
what's the matter with you G.W. Bush ? do you get bored that much in your country??

Does the weaker argument defeat the stronger???

Hey
i came back from Paris last night... the show of the Delgados of wednesday was not that bad... 9 guys, with violins and stuffs on a stage in such a small room, it was really noisy, and the sound was a bit crappy... but some songs made me feel happy. And for the first time of my life, i've seen violins players drinking beers like real punks... i mean all the guys i've seen playing string instruments (excepted guitares and basses) were wearing a suit and were looking as if they were about to get married!
And... i have demonstrated yesterday for the bears tortured in Asia, in front of the Vietnam ambassy, with around 200 other persons. The first secretary of the Vietnam ambassy has received the leaders of our organization (One Voice), and this first meeting is full of hopes: he's explained to them that his government agreeds to collaborate with them to educate the kids to stop tortures on bears in the future, to try to save the injured bears in a sanctuary, and to employ a forest- warden to avoid the capture of the bearcubs. I think it's encouraging. I'm glad to see that some governments are sensitives to animals sufferings. The Chinese ambassy has denied these facts, and has just admitted that there may are some kind of traffics somewhere... that sucks! the Chinese government really sucks. They use the same answers to every kind of problem they have to deal with... Human rights, Animal rights... They always pretend that everything is normal and that everybody is happy, but there is not any rights in there! it's a real dictatorship, and the Chinese are suffering so much! This country is fullfilled with suffering and lies. I really hope things will change soon! it runs for more than 50 years now!
Come on guys!: Free Tibet, build a real democracy, and respect more the others beings and the environment! the Chinese government has destroyed the Tibetan Forests for years, and the chinese have paid their dues with devastating inundations.
And they should free all the political prisonners who are dying in jail just bacause they dream of Freedom, or because they have criticized the chinese government... and what about the young Panchen Lama, the youngest political prisonner of the world, in jail since he's 4...

What's the matter ? why does the United Nations don't do anything?? is it just because of their lack of petrol ??
Is it just because the Chinese market is that juicy???

Can we find a more obvious example that all the economical interests are stronger than Human Rights, Animal Rights, Ecology ??
Can we find a more obvious example that money is the only leader of this world??

Rooting Out Evil

I am unforgivable i haven't write down here for a while... but i have been really busy these last few days... collecting toys and school stuffs for my trip in the tibetan refugees camp in India.
And i am now about to go to Paris, to a concert (the Delgados at La boule Noire, tonight) and i am going to demonstrate tomorrow afternoon for the bears tortured in Asia in front of the Vietnam ambassy (rue Boileau, Paris 16éme)... for more info, see in "Vietnam, China, India, Nepal... Free Tibet now!", and in "Ursus Thibetanus" in the journal of this forum...

By the way, concerning propaganda for good causes, you can check this web site, that's interesting:

http://www.rootingoutevil.org

Rooting Out Evil is sending a weapons inspection team to the
United States to inspect the chemical, biological, and nuclear
weapons produced and concealed by the Bush regime...

And you can supporting them by joining them...

I wish they don't visit every single country of this planet... they should be a professional inspection team, with a real power to terrify every government, and they should have a card and stuffs (yes, because when you come to inspect stuffs with a card (like the police or the FBI by ex) it's really impressive and it would be so upsetting for the world powerfull leaders! And to punish them, they would sentenced the leaders and their entire armies to go and clean the ocean, by ex or to go and help any ecological problems for years. If i am a dreamer?? yes! definitly! but you may know this song:
"You may say Im a dreamer,
but Im not the only one,
I hope some day you'll join us,
And the world will live as one."

Ashamed of being a westerner...

Sometimes i feel ashamed of being a westerner...
We are the fewest but the biggest polluting people ever seen on Earth. We are such a disease! And i am so ashamed of being a part of it.

I don't talk only about global warming: we are so good in polluting other people space. Chinese, by example are good in polluting too, they pollute themselves and their neighboorhood, which is already awful! But we, westerners, have been/keep on polluting other countries: we have infected africans with AIDS, pretending trying to find out a remede, but just for us... We have dumped our nuclear wastes in the ocean, close to Australia... The pharmaceutical laboratories are moving out more and more to Africa and Asia, where they can pollute freely... We are such jerks!
It makes me feel really guilty. I understand why nobody likes Americans in the world, and i understand why they don't like Europeans neither ... We are just a few but we are such a disease for the world.

It saddens me a lot because nobody seems to matter... "we" do not say anything, "we" just close our eyes, living our little cold comfortable existence... buying what they tell us to buy on TV, dreaming that if we buy this tooth paste we will feel happier, or we will look like this georgious guy... but it's a fake plastic world, created to anaesthetize us...
This is pure manipulation! please be careful!
The only power we have is to be consumers, in this consumer's society, so be careful to what you buy, to what you want!!
Try to be a consumer who cares, and pay attention!

The european dream...

If you have a fax machine, you can fax the french government... i don't know if these assholes can really do stuffs, because they are so goods in "pretending doing stuffs"... But i think that we can send emails, petitions and faxes anyway... it's still good when people are united for a cause... and you can keep these fax numbers for later... i dunno... if one night you get bored, you can play tricks on them! If you are still hesitating: remember, jacques chirac the president of the french government, has decided some years ago to dump the french nuclear wastes in the ocean, close to Australia... these guys really s*ck so don't worry, go ahead and have fun!

" PLEASE PASS ON THIS APPEAL TO THE FRENCH GOVERNMENT TO VETO WAR WITH IRAQ, AND PLEASE SEND A FAX TO PRESIDENT CHIRAC URGING HIM TO DO SO. The following appeal can be signed at Sign on:

http://www.veto.ht.st

You are also urged to fax it directly to the president of France,
Jacques Chirac at: +33-147-42-2465.
It can also be sent to the French foreign minister at: +33-1-4317-5203 and to the Prime Minister of France at: +33-142-43-2677.

The '+' stands for your own country's ISD access code. This is often '00' or '11'. Australia has 0011(ph) and 0015(fax) access codes.

International Appeal for a French Veto at the Security Council of the United Nations To the President of the French Republic Mr. President, According to the rules of the United Nations, each permanent member, i.e. China, the United States, France, Great Britain and Russia, has the sovereign power to block any Security Council resolution. Enormous pressure is being exerted on leaders, on States and on public opinion, to start a war against Iraq with unfathomable consequences. Public opinion in your country, as in Many other countries, is opposed to this war. Because France has Means of action that other countries in Europe and in the rest of the World do not have and that it is thus in charge of a responsibility of Historical import, we ask of you: In virtue of the power given you by the Constitution of your country and of the power bequeathed you by the rules of The United Nations; To demand that any war declaration made against Iraq be put to the vote at the Security Council; To use France's right of veto to block any resolution that would allow the start of a war against Iraq."

India, Nepal, Vietnam, China... (Free Tibet now!)

I am preparing my trip to India and Nepal...
I am going to spend the Lhossar (Tibetan New Year) with my heart family, the monks of Shedphelling monastry, in a tibetan refugee camp, in Karnataka (south of India) and i am so impatient.
I have spent the last week organizing all the stuffs i will have to check in this camp, for Trinley Djinpa (Don et Action Pour le Tibet), the association i am involved in to help the tibetan refugees in India.
I was in Paris yesterday, for a meeting with the President and Vice- President of our organization. So now i am almost ready! i am now collecting toys and school stuffs for the kids there... and for the nursery our organization has built last year. I am going to take off the 1st of march, so you can send me stuffs at my postal address (see in the "Contact category") if you wanna help, but send it quickly i am leaving in 19 days!

By the way, concerning the demonstration in Paris for the bears tortured in Asia, the 20th of february: The french organization for the animal rights "One Voice" has changed the plans : because of the result of their investigation in Vietnam, they have decided to demonstrate in front of the Vietnam ambassy (62 rue Boileau, Paris 16e) at 15H30, while a delegation will go to the Chinese ambassy.
To sum up, in Vietnam the bears are prisonners in cages and tortured for the extraction of their bile, like in China, but the diference is that in Vietnam there is a law to protect the bears, since september 2002, but nobody pays attention to it. That's why One Voice want to demonstrate in front of the Vietnam ambassy instead. But the delegation for the Chinese ambassy will meet the leaders and will send them mutilated teddy bears every single day since then. So, i hope to see you there!
Please try to come if you are hanging around, it's so useful to help these innocents beings! if we don't do anything who will ?? we are their only chance, the only ones who pay attention to their suffering!

Fishing Hurts

I think that everyone pretending being "fishetarian" should read that...

Actually a lot of people (and a lot of surfers) pretends to be vegetarian, but keeps on eating fish. and i really wonder why...
i mean if you decide to become vegetarian, it's because you don't want to make suffer any being... you refuse the fact that someone would kill just for your own pleasure! so what's the point of keeping on eating fish??? i really don't understand... and that's why to me Christmas and New Year's eve are tragedies!! people eat too much and eat sea shells, lobsters, oysters and fish all around. It makes me feel very sad each year.
So please, i beg you to think of all the suffering inflicted to the meat you eat...

thanks for reading,

"The pain system in fish is virtually the same as in birds and mammals."
---Dr. Donald Broom, professor of animal welfare, Cambridge University

While fish cannot always express pain and suffering in ways that humans can easily recognize, common sense (as well as marine biologists) tells us that fish feel pain. Fish may not be cute and cuddly like puppies and kittens, but they suffer and experience pain in very much the same way.

Fish suffer from being impaled, thrown, crushed, or mutilated while alive, and they are often left to die slowly and painfully of suffocation.

Ursus Thibetanus...

Hi

I hope you like the radio, personnaly i love it!

Here, the snow is now melting, it's a pity because it was really georgious.

If you have planed to hang out in Paris (France) in february:
There is a demonstration in front of the chinese ambassy against the bears traffic in Asia. In china they raise bears in "farm-factories" to collect their bile for traditionnal chinese medicine... but actually it's useless because the traditionnal medicine uses now plants alternatives... So the bile is now used to make shampoos and chinese wines.
You may know that this is not the only wrong thing with China ...
Lobsang Dhondup, a 28 year old farmer has been executed on Sunday 26 January. He had been sentenced to death for alleged involvement in a bomb blast in Chengdu in April 2002. This is the first known execution of a Tibetan for offences linked to political activities for as long as a decade... and 2 tibetans were sentenced to death this week end.
This is only what we know... many more Tibetans are now dying and tortured in chinese prisons, just because they want their freedom.

So demonstrating in front the chinese ambassy has a lot of meanings ... Bears traffic, Tibetan Cause... there are a lot to say about the chinese government... i think i'll demonstrate for the bears with a Free Tibet Tshirt! (or a jumper, or i gonna die frozen!)
If you are in Paris this month : the demonstration will take place in front of the chinese ambassy, the 20th february, at 3pm.
Here is the address : 11, avenue George V, 78008 paris.

And if you have planned to be in Belgium in march, there is a demonstration for the Tibetan Cause, the sunday 9th march in front of the europeans institutions, at Brussels.

More info on:

http://www.onevoice-ear.org/ (the site is in french but there is an english version)

and www.freetibet.org

And you know what ? the specy of bears raised or/and killed for their bile in China is called "Ursus Thibetanus"!!! isn't it ironic???
